Meet Cybele Martinez Kelly, LCSW

Hi, I’m Cybele (pronounced Sa-Bell). I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Therapist, and Relationship Expert. I have over 8 years of experience supporting individuals and couples in building stronger and more secure connections.

I help clients uncover how past attachment wounds show up in their current relationships; whether it’s fear of abandonment, emotional shutdown, or a constant push-pull dynamic. By bringing an awareness to these patterns and where they began, we can start to heal the hurt below the surface. My work focuses on creating emotional safety, deepening connection, and helping you develop healthier ways of relating to yourself and to others.

My early clinical work began in substance abuse counseling in New York City, then expanded into crisis family casework, and trauma-informed care with survivors of torture. These experiences deepened my understanding of human resilience and taught me the importance of meeting each client exactly where they are with compassion, patience, and curiosity.

Outside of session, I’m a proud wife, dog and cat mom, and someone who finds joy in hiking, exploring new places, and traveling with my husband. These parts of my life keep me grounded and remind me of the importance of balance and connection.

At the heart of my practice is the belief that every person has the capacity to heal and live as the best version of themselves. It’s my privilege to walk alongside you as you reconnect with yourself and create the relationships you deserve.

My Clinical Approach

My style is relaxed, collaborative, and rooted in the belief that healing begins with connection to both ourselves and to others. In session, I pull from evidence-based approaches including:

  • Attachment Theory – exploring how early experiences shape the way you connect in relationships today

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS) – helping you understand and care for the different “parts” of yourself

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) & Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) – building tools for managing thoughts, emotions, and communication

  • Psychoanalytic + Relational Perspectives – bringing curiosity to your story and the unconscious patterns that keep repeating

While these modalities guide the work, I tailor each session to meet you exactly where you are.

Who I Work With

I work with individuals and couples who are ready to explore how past experiences are shaping their present. My clients are often navigating:

  • Anxious, avoidant, or disorganized attachment patterns

  • Cycles of push-pull or disconnection in relationships

  • Feelings of fear, abandonment, or emotional shutdown

  • Life transitions or struggles with self-worth

  • A desire to build a more secure, grounded sense of self

Many of my clients are high-functioning and outwardly successful, but inside feel stuck in repeating patterns of anxiety, disconnection, or relationship stress. Together, we work on creating emotional safety, deepening self-awareness, and practicing new ways of relating that support more secure, fulfilling connections.
